Just 30 years ago, Graywall was a broken mass of Dhakaani ruins. In the intervening decades, a nation has taken root in the wilderness, and Graywall has become the frontier between the realms of humanity and the lands of monsters. It is the conduit between Droaam and the rest of Khorvaire, a lawless free city whose reputation for crime, corruption, and violence is well deserved.
The majority of its inhabitants are gnolls, orcs, and goblins. It has a foreign quarter, the Calabas (or “Kennel”), built to cater to humans and other travelers from the east. This city within a city resembles any other relatively civilized Five Nations settlement. Houses Ghallanda, Jorasco, Kundarak, Orien, Phiarlan, Sivis, and Tharashk all have enclaves in the Calabas.
Legitimate merchants come to Graywall tot rade for goods and ores that are found only in Droaam, but bandits – monstrous and otherwise – also use the markets here to dispose of their ill-gotten gains.
